Lisa comes home! :)

Today Bre, Sara and myself are off to pick up Lisa at the airport in Toronto! She's coming home to stay (well until her next adventure) after 5 years in California. It's been hard for her to fit 5 years in a couple of suitcases so I'm not sure what she's bringing home but I know she was very frustrated yesterday trying to get everything packed. She gave a lot away to others of what she acquired in those years but still there are so many "things" we just can't live without!! :)
We are leaving early to miss all the rush hour traffic so I guess we'll just have to sacrifice and spend the day at IKEA! What a tragedy!! (snicker, snicker) Don't cry too hard for me......I have a few last minute Christmas items to find so I think IKEA will be just just the place! LOL
I've been busy getting Christmas presents finished and bought. Last night I wrapped most of them. I have to go wrap a few more before I leave today.
Toodle oooooo (how do you spell that!!???)

Just stopping by....

hehehehehe....I've been neglecting my blog! so sorry to all that have been visiting and seen nothing new!
Well, DigiDollarama is in full swing. Wendy and I have stocked the shelves and opened the doors!! We are a "no pressure, no frills" site where you won't feel a bit pressured to buy so many beautiful kits and bits for only $1.00 and you won't have to wade thru a bunch of frills to get to the good stuff!! :) I have added a few new kits and elements and templates in the past couple of weeks so make sure you drop by and check them out. Wendy's in the process of getting some new stuff ready but again, there is NO Pressure! LOL The other GREAT thing about DigiDollarama is that all our stuff can be used for commercial use (see our terms http://www.digitalscrapping.com/ddr/index.php?main_page=conditions )!!! Now where else can you get such great value for your "buck" (pun intended) rofl (I crack myself up)

Also I've been having fun with my Stampin' Up stuff! I tried a project I saw on SplitCoastStampers website applying stamped images to candles and WOW, I couldn't believe how well they turned out!!! You can view them at my Stampin Blog or in the Digitalscrapping Gallery.

Other than that, I've been doing the same old stuff and trying to get ready for Christmas! Haven't done a bit of decorating yet....maybe this weekend, no, for sure this weekend! I keep forgetting that Christmas is less than 2 weeks away!!! YIKES....better get back to the work room! At least I don't have to do any baking!! whew!

Talk to ya soon!!!

Wow, DigiDollarama is OPEN!!

Wendy and I had a brain wave (or "fart") and decided to open a digital scrapping store where all the kits were a dollar! Wendy's great idea for a name was "DigiDollarama" and lo and behold, the domain name was available! So our brain wave ("fart") was conceived and is now a reality!! We are excited about it and can't wait to share all we have with others! Another great feature of the site is that everything can be used commercially so you can create things with the products and sell your created items. Of course you can't just take the items in our kits and re-sell them as is, they must be created into something else first! Well, check it out and enjoy!!!

Had to share

Megan and I were looking at a book this morning and she stretched out on the floor to look. I got up for a moment and next thing I knew, Dylan was stretched out beside her! So cute and I actually managed to get a couple of photos of it!!

Took the Plunge

Well, I dove in head first and signed up as a Stampin' Up Demonstrator! It will take a couple of weeks to get my Starter Kit and I'm waiting patiently (NOT....looking thru the catalog, dreaming, walking into stores looking for scrapbook stuff) Oh well, it will fly by and then I'll have to actually get to work! LOL I should get all my Christmas tasks done while I'm waiting so I'll have more time to play. I'll be writing more, in the weeks to come, about my Stampin' Up endeavour in my Stampin' Up blog (link is under My Favourite Links in sidebar)
Still haven't finished the oil paintings although they are getting close. Will be happy when they are finished. Sure hope they look like the picture in my head LOL
I'm trying to get some ceramics painted that have been sitting in my basement for 4 years. I'm doing all the Christmas and winter pieces. Here's a pic of what I'm working on.

Here's Dylan playing peek-a-boo :) (taken as I type this)
Megan's watching "101 Dalmatians", her favourite movie at the moment.
Well, that's it for now. Dylan's got one of my pot lids and the movie is over so Marcie's on-duty again :)
Talk to you soon :)

Changed to Beta

Well, I changed over to Beta Blogger but now I have to re-learn the code so I can add my favourite links. Don't even know if I'll try to change colours, backgrounds etc!!! Hopefully, I will find out what I need to know and get this fixed! See you later

Checkin' In

Just thought I'd better post a "hello" so you all know I'm still here!
I've been painting some quilting plaques (see photo) for the store I used to work at and am hoping that they will sell and I'll have more to make.
I also have a commission oil painting to do and have started that. Hoping to get it done in the next couple of days. Got my mom's rag quilt done and gave it to her last Sunday for her birthday. Now I'm working on a quilt for my secret santa gift for my family Christmas. Never a dull moment at my house ;) I'm also considering selling "Stampin' Up" products. Haven't made a commitment yet but it looks like fun and so I'm thinking about it. And people ask me if I'm lonely and bored....phfffff....like that will ever happen ;) rofl
Hope you all are well!!

The Move

The move went very well. Four girls have squeezed into a three bedroom semi-detached house. The fourth girl took the basement as her room and has quite a nice "suite" down there! They drew straws for who got the small, medium and large bedrooms. Sara unfortunately got the smallest one and she was hoping for a large room! She was quite sad about it. Bre got the biggest bedroom and anyone who knows Bre, knows she will fill it until you can't move in there! Anyway, they've acquired quite a bit of stuff and have almost every comfort of home! Last night Darren and I moved in 2 love seats that they were able to acquire very inexpensively. Now they just need window coverings in the living room, bathroom and Bre's bedroom. LOL But they have cable and internet so the priorities have been taken care of :)
Amazing the difference between a guy moving out on his own and a girl moving out on her own. A guy needs the basest basics and a girl needs everything! LOL
Anyway, no pics of the move or the house! I keep forgetting to take my camera.

It's Snowing!!!!!!

Yes that's right, our first snowfall of this season! YUCK :)
It's always amazing to see the first snowfall but it gets very "OLD" in a very short time LOL
Here are some before and after photos of today
Morning - snow clouds coming from the west

Late Morning - tiny snowflakes falling and melting

Afternoon - Snow Squall

And it worsens!!!! Now a full blown snow storm

Template 1

I guess the download to template 1 is no longer available. I didn't realize that Rapid Share had a time limit. Does anyone know how/where I can put files for download that won't "time out"??
If anyone would still like the templates, please email me and I'll send them to you :)

Colour & Font Changes

Wow, I figured out how to change font colour and font although it was hit and miss as to what I was changing. LOL I have lots to learn and will continue to learn what I can!

Oh and Wendy here's the URL for the google blogger help group http://groups.google.com/group/blogger-help

A Background Finally :)

I joined a google group to help me learn about editing my blog. A very nice person gave me the instructions I needed to get a background into my blog and voila! Now I have to learn where to change the colour code so that you can see the subtitles. :) I guess I'll be learning something new all the time with this thing!! :)

Happy Thanksgiving

To all those Canadians out there,
Happy Thanksgiving!
We have so much to be thankful for so it's great to have a day dedicated to remembering! Also a nice day-off from the regular daily schedule! :)
We had a great day yesterday with my family, chatting, laughing and eating :) The weather has been so nice all weekend too so that's made it even more enjoyable!
I just finished some outdoor painting and now I'm going to do a bit of garden clean up and then relax!
Enjoy the day :)

Shopping Trip

Wow, what a great day Sara and I had! We went shopping for "stuff" for their new home! It was so much fun!! We went to Walmart, Home Outfitters and Linens and Things!! Got laundry baskets, waste baskets, towels (for show only LOL), bathroom mat, toilet cover, sink accessories, duvet, duvet cover, sheet set (all these are for Sara's new bed), dishes, glasses, cutlery, etc, etc, etc............almost everything they needed except a vacuum cleaner and a couple of little dollar store items! Sara even got a queen size bed!! LOL You should have seen us fitting that into the Mazda 6!!! ROFL Luckily it came in a box and Sara and I are small enough to fit in the front of the car (almost on the dashboard ;)) But we made it....now to find places to put everything until next Saturday!! I'll try to remember to take pics of the move and share them with you!! I'm almost as excited as they are!! :)

New Header

I created this new Header using the Club DigiScrap Denim Kit that the "team" helped make at Do It Digi when it was still "alive". : ( (still missing DID)
I actually figured out where to put the code for this and voila!! Now I would love to put a paper from the same kit as a background. Does anyone know how I can do this? I've tried and tried and looked for help but can't figure it out.

Boat to Italy

I wanted to use the free template posted just below so here's what I did.

This is my husband's family in Argentina sending off his grandparents at the port. My husband is the little guy on the right in his mom's arms.

I used Tandika's "Boys n Dirt" papers from the DigiScrap Designers site and my template :)

Another Free Template :)

Since I haven't done any beautiful layouts lately, I'll share another page template! You can download this free through Rapid Share. Just click on the template below and follow the directions at the Rapid Share site. (Make sure you wait while the seconds tick away before downloading) Enjoy! and please share with me the links to your layouts using this template:)

This Morning

Megan and Dylan are playing this morning with blocks, puzzles and books. Dylan is a "handful" for Megan since he keeps getting in her way. We have lots of "fun" keeping the peace between the 2 of them!

Here's a moment of peace as they each play with something different :) (Is it only 8:30 am??)

Be back later :)

Samples made using my Template (available Free below). I used a freebie from Betty Jo Martin from the September Newsletter at Scrapbook Elements.

The photos are of Lake Tahoe on our trip to California to visit Lisa in 2002.

No Mystery Now

No wonder we didn't sell too many kits at Do It Digi!! Have you seen how many freebies are out there??? Oh my goodness! Why would anyone ever buy when you can get some awesome stuff for FREE!!!??? Well the mystery is solved and it sure makes me think "twice more" about selling online when you can give it away for free LOL

Here's a freebie for you.....wouldn't want to be "left behind" in the Digital Game!
This is one of those "so popular" page templates! Created in .psd format with layers for Photoshop, PS Elements and Paint Shop Pro users as well as .jpg for others. All the layers can be rotated and moved so the possibilities are endless! Would love to see what you do with this :)

Sun is Shining :)

Despite the fact that the sky is dark for the most part, the sun keeps peeking through and that is sooooo nice! Sure is looking more like Fall everyday!
Went to the Stratford Fall Fair yesterday and what a waste of time and money! LOL Won't do that again but at least I can say I did it once :)
Today we're going to visit mom and dad. Haven't seen them for a couple of weeks and it always seems too long! Darren's surfing in Grand Bend this morning.......brrrrrrr. He really got the surfing "bug" and has been trying to catch as many "waves" as he can despite the water temperature. It's down to 63 degrees F. and he says he won't go in when it gets to 60 degrees. Oh to be young again! NOT
Bre and Sara are both working today. And for those I haven't told, Lisa (my eldest) is coming home from California for good on December 19th!! Finally!!! She's been there 5 years now and we've only managed to see her a couple of times per year. It will be sooo nice to have her close again!!!!!

Okay, I'm off to the basement to do some wash and then maybe start that sweater or work on my quilt until we leave for mom's! Later :)

Thanks!

Thanks so much for the positive comments on my sewing :) I didn't sell any on ebay but I might try again one day soon. Steph, I will get in touch with you as I have quite a few items for sale and maybe they would sell in your friend's consignment store. I did have them in St. Marys but it would be great to try somewhere else for awhile.
I love to make children's clothing.....so rewarding but when you don't have an outlet for them, they just stack up!

Just went to my neighbour's house and got some yarn and a pattern to knit a sweater! Yikes....all I need is another project! I'm a sucker for punishment but it's soooo much fun LOL

It's FRIDAY....yeehaw

It's so nice to see all those great comments on my first post. Feels like we're really gonna stay in touch. You all do feel like family and I hope we continue to update one another about our daily happenings and dreams for the future.

Not only did DID end for me but my sewing job is ending September 29th. I will still have 2 or 3 days of babysitting each week but that's all for now. I'm looking forward to seeing what's coming up cause it seems too coincidental that both my jobs ended at the same time! I have a number of children's clothing left for sale that I made for the store I worked for and I've posted 5 items on Ebay to see what happens. I might try that route for awhile to see if I can get rid of some things and then if not, I'll donate them to charity.

So far not much action but it's my first time trying to sell on ebay. I'm not giving up yet! LOL

I guess my days will be spent sewing for the most part this fall. I have one quilt in the works and another on the sidelines. Am hoping to get a few done for family but the darn fabric is so expensive. I also have a stash of other fabrics (not for quilts) that I want to get made into things so I can clean out my craft area.

I'll be checking in tomorrow, talk to you then :)

A Sad Day

Today is a sad day for me! Do It Digi has closed completely and my "home page" when I open my internet browser has had to change. It has been Do It Digi for the past year and a half and it feels so strange to not see that familiar page each morning :((

For now, my home page is Joy's Blog LOL. Couldn't think of anything better to open to each day.

Sure is feeling like Fall here in Stratford, Ontario. The air has cooled considerably in the past 2 weeks and more rain and cloudy skies really makes me want to stay in the house. The farmers fields are wonderful colours now and the setting sun peeking through the clouds enhances the Fall colours. Here's a view from my backyard

Of course this is more stunning in real life!!

I'm still working out what to do with my "DID" time. I want to continue to create kits but then I think "what for". I would like to get motivated to get some genealogy layouts done so we can get a book together. Once I get some loose ends cleaned up around here (sewing, housework, etc), I think that is what I will concentrate on. The past month I've been using up some of the stash of fabric I have sitting around. Have made a few items for myself and others. However, seems like I get some used up and then buy some more. When will I learn!!! Oh well. I think I am gaining though.....I emptied one tote bucket so that must mean I'm getting rid of some. LOL

Signing off for now.....talk to you soon :)
