Two New Kits and an Album @ Digidollarama

By the looks of it, I was 'seeing red' this month! By coincidence, my 2 newest kits are definitely RED! The great thing about red is that it mixes with black and white so nicely! Since all the kits at Digidollarama are only $1.00 (WOW), you could get a huge mega kit by purchasing the 3 kits for only $3.00 and combining them!! WHAT A DEAL!!!

Along the north shore we found this spot where there were cliffs so we just had to stop and take a look!

The packed beaches of Mar del Plata on a beautiful sunny day!

Leaving Mar del Plata was very hard.....saying goodbye for an unknown amount of time to parents/grandparents that are over 80.

Our last night in Buenos Aires where we were treated to a good bye party by our family.

Ready for a night on the town in Mar del Plata
Ivana, Lisa, Sara, Darren and Breanna

On a coastal beach north of Mar del Plata.....I believe this was Mar Azul

Me and Lisa at Mar Azul

Enjoying a drink at a sidewalk cafe in Villa Gesell, about an hour north of Mar del Plata. Beautiful seaside town with great shopping and beautiful beaches.

A panoramic photo of the port in Mar del Plata

The Central Casino in Mar del Plata.....a great pic taken by my daughter Lisa....love the reflection

Yes, that is a car just outside the kitchen!

A family Barbeque in our rented house.....we are eating in the garage, where the car was in the pic above! : ) Below is John cooking the meat outside in the patio.

The cousins out on the town! The Bars and Dance Clubs don't open until 1 am and usually close around 7 am!!!! Crazy, huh!

Argentina trip Pics

Sara and Lisa the day we arrived in Bs. As., Argentina

Lisa and Breanna with their cousin's daughter Morena......such a little doll!!! (or 3 dolls ;))

The house we rented in Mar del Plata. (John, Darren and Lisa)

One of the only family dinners we had with John's mom and 2 sisters together.

Home from Argentina

Just returned from a three week trip to Argentina to visit my husband's family. My husband, four children and I left on January 26 and returned February 17. We had beautiful warm, sunny weather and missed most of the very cold, blustery winter weather here at home. John spent most of Saturday after we got home, digging out the laneway and cars. The neighbours tried to keep up for us but it was just too much! I'm glad I missed it ;)

Our trip was "interesting" to say the least. Argentina is a very different culture to Canada. They drive like maniacs, never observing rules of the road, crowding 5 lanes of traffic into two....but for the most part they don't drive as fast as we do here. We had to buy food daily and if you don't get it in the morning, you sometimes have to wait until late afternoon as most places close from noon until 4pm. There is much walking to do and the sidewalks are often treacherous with uplifted slabs of stone and dog doo-doo. You never look up while you walk ;) I don't know how they get everything done in a day when they have to work a job as well as keep house, etc.

John's family is a whole other story that I won't go into in a blog. They are of Italian descent and mixed with the whole Argentina culture, it makes for volatile situations. When we left, everyone was still alive and kicking LOL I'll leave it at that ;)

Here's a pic of us along the coast of Argentina south of Mar del Plata

Lisa comes home! :)

Today Bre, Sara and myself are off to pick up Lisa at the airport in Toronto! She's coming home to stay (well until her next adventure) after 5 years in California. It's been hard for her to fit 5 years in a couple of suitcases so I'm not sure what she's bringing home but I know she was very frustrated yesterday trying to get everything packed. She gave a lot away to others of what she acquired in those years but still there are so many "things" we just can't live without!! :)
We are leaving early to miss all the rush hour traffic so I guess we'll just have to sacrifice and spend the day at IKEA! What a tragedy!! (snicker, snicker) Don't cry too hard for me......I have a few last minute Christmas items to find so I think IKEA will be just just the place! LOL
I've been busy getting Christmas presents finished and bought. Last night I wrapped most of them. I have to go wrap a few more before I leave today.
Toodle oooooo (how do you spell that!!???)

Just stopping by....

hehehehehe....I've been neglecting my blog! so sorry to all that have been visiting and seen nothing new!
Well, DigiDollarama is in full swing. Wendy and I have stocked the shelves and opened the doors!! We are a "no pressure, no frills" site where you won't feel a bit pressured to buy so many beautiful kits and bits for only $1.00 and you won't have to wade thru a bunch of frills to get to the good stuff!! :) I have added a few new kits and elements and templates in the past couple of weeks so make sure you drop by and check them out. Wendy's in the process of getting some new stuff ready but again, there is NO Pressure! LOL The other GREAT thing about DigiDollarama is that all our stuff can be used for commercial use (see our terms http://www.digitalscrapping.com/ddr/index.php?main_page=conditions )!!! Now where else can you get such great value for your "buck" (pun intended) rofl (I crack myself up)

Also I've been having fun with my Stampin' Up stuff! I tried a project I saw on SplitCoastStampers website applying stamped images to candles and WOW, I couldn't believe how well they turned out!!! You can view them at my Stampin Blog or in the Digitalscrapping Gallery.

Other than that, I've been doing the same old stuff and trying to get ready for Christmas! Haven't done a bit of decorating yet....maybe this weekend, no, for sure this weekend! I keep forgetting that Christmas is less than 2 weeks away!!! YIKES....better get back to the work room! At least I don't have to do any baking!! whew!

Talk to ya soon!!!

Wow, DigiDollarama is OPEN!!

Wendy and I had a brain wave (or "fart") and decided to open a digital scrapping store where all the kits were a dollar! Wendy's great idea for a name was "DigiDollarama" and lo and behold, the domain name was available! So our brain wave ("fart") was conceived and is now a reality!! We are excited about it and can't wait to share all we have with others! Another great feature of the site is that everything can be used commercially so you can create things with the products and sell your created items. Of course you can't just take the items in our kits and re-sell them as is, they must be created into something else first! Well, check it out and enjoy!!!

Had to share

Megan and I were looking at a book this morning and she stretched out on the floor to look. I got up for a moment and next thing I knew, Dylan was stretched out beside her! So cute and I actually managed to get a couple of photos of it!!

Took the Plunge

Well, I dove in head first and signed up as a Stampin' Up Demonstrator! It will take a couple of weeks to get my Starter Kit and I'm waiting patiently (NOT....looking thru the catalog, dreaming, walking into stores looking for scrapbook stuff) Oh well, it will fly by and then I'll have to actually get to work! LOL I should get all my Christmas tasks done while I'm waiting so I'll have more time to play. I'll be writing more, in the weeks to come, about my Stampin' Up endeavour in my Stampin' Up blog (link is under My Favourite Links in sidebar)
Still haven't finished the oil paintings although they are getting close. Will be happy when they are finished. Sure hope they look like the picture in my head LOL
I'm trying to get some ceramics painted that have been sitting in my basement for 4 years. I'm doing all the Christmas and winter pieces. Here's a pic of what I'm working on.

Here's Dylan playing peek-a-boo :) (taken as I type this)
Megan's watching "101 Dalmatians", her favourite movie at the moment.
Well, that's it for now. Dylan's got one of my pot lids and the movie is over so Marcie's on-duty again :)
Talk to you soon :)

Changed to Beta

Well, I changed over to Beta Blogger but now I have to re-learn the code so I can add my favourite links. Don't even know if I'll try to change colours, backgrounds etc!!! Hopefully, I will find out what I need to know and get this fixed! See you later

Checkin' In

Just thought I'd better post a "hello" so you all know I'm still here!
I've been painting some quilting plaques (see photo) for the store I used to work at and am hoping that they will sell and I'll have more to make.
I also have a commission oil painting to do and have started that. Hoping to get it done in the next couple of days. Got my mom's rag quilt done and gave it to her last Sunday for her birthday. Now I'm working on a quilt for my secret santa gift for my family Christmas. Never a dull moment at my house ;) I'm also considering selling "Stampin' Up" products. Haven't made a commitment yet but it looks like fun and so I'm thinking about it. And people ask me if I'm lonely and bored....phfffff....like that will ever happen ;) rofl
Hope you all are well!!

The Move

The move went very well. Four girls have squeezed into a three bedroom semi-detached house. The fourth girl took the basement as her room and has quite a nice "suite" down there! They drew straws for who got the small, medium and large bedrooms. Sara unfortunately got the smallest one and she was hoping for a large room! She was quite sad about it. Bre got the biggest bedroom and anyone who knows Bre, knows she will fill it until you can't move in there! Anyway, they've acquired quite a bit of stuff and have almost every comfort of home! Last night Darren and I moved in 2 love seats that they were able to acquire very inexpensively. Now they just need window coverings in the living room, bathroom and Bre's bedroom. LOL But they have cable and internet so the priorities have been taken care of :)
Amazing the difference between a guy moving out on his own and a girl moving out on her own. A guy needs the basest basics and a girl needs everything! LOL
Anyway, no pics of the move or the house! I keep forgetting to take my camera.

It's Snowing!!!!!!

Yes that's right, our first snowfall of this season! YUCK :)
It's always amazing to see the first snowfall but it gets very "OLD" in a very short time LOL
Here are some before and after photos of today
Morning - snow clouds coming from the west

Late Morning - tiny snowflakes falling and melting

Afternoon - Snow Squall

And it worsens!!!! Now a full blown snow storm
